I had a visit from another pigeon a couple of days back and a bird I don’t know the name of, lets call it Mystery bird, paid a visit yesterday. The pigeon, along with her beau, paid another visit just as finished typing the first draft of this post. So it has been updated to include the budding romance.
Mystery bird flew away before I could get the camera. A little description. He looked liked a humming-bird. Small, green-yellow color, long beak and ridiculously loud noise compared to its size and he makes the sound without a pause to breathe. Probably it’s a humming-bird but I have seen those only on TV so can’t say for sure.
It seems like word is spreading about my balcony becoming the new place for all the birds to hang out.I am a big fan of F.R.I.E.N.D.S, hence the name “Central Bird Perk” . No coffee though, just rice grains. As I started typing this post there was some fight going on in the balcony between the sparrows. The sparrows are becoming more adventurous day by day and have started entering my flat. Then I heard a crash and a splash. The pigeon couple had arrived and knocked down the money plant that I had kept in water for its roots to grow.
I have noticed this pigeon flying around,as it stands out from the rest, obviously due to her colour and pattern. After seeing her at close I think she too believes she’s special. Just look at her walk, if that isn’t attitude, then what is!
The Male lead of the story did not pose for a shot alone but I do have photos of them together which helps me tell you their love story.
May be he said “Look that idiot is back with her camera” or maybe they set up the next date.Hopefully it’s the second.
That’s the short sweet love story that took place today.
Some shots I managed to take the first time she was here are in the slide show.
This week’s theme for the Daily Post Photo Challenge is Quest. What better quest to display than the quest for love using their display today as a personification of it.

I seriously need this camera you use to capture this. And are they pets or you just capture them from outside? Like they know they are to go for a photoshoot everyday..HEHEHE!
Beautiful

Thank you. They are not pets. I leave some food like rice grains or something, on the ledge in my balcony. I started that for the sparrows but now all the different kinds of birds show up for a meal. They fly off if they see me. I hide behind curtains with just the camera lens poking out to take the photos. They are natural posers so I get some good shots. 🙂

I forgot to mention that today’s shots were taken with my Canon ixus and not the Nikon D5300. The nikon ran out of battery so used the other one. You were talking about camera, so thought I should tell you this.

Perfect! It gives so much clear work.. thank you for that. Been thinking of buying a camera myself. So I might decide among the two.

If you are crazy about photography then it’s better to invest in a DSLR i think. Canon Ixus is a Point and Shoot Digital Camera so the controls are limited. It’s a good place to start though. I only realised I liked photography this much after I started taking photos with that. The Nikon is a DSLR so there is much better control over what you shoot and how you want the shot.Take your time and compare all cameras in your price range before you buy.

Appreciated for your advice… am not into photography but of course once I get the camera then it can start from there.
